Ileítis terminal como forma de presentación de una tuberculosis diseminada

Resumen

La ileítis terminal (IT) se define como la presencia de inflamación en el íleon terminal. Existen múltiples causas de IT, debiendo tener en cuenta que la presencia de la misma no implica la existencia de enfermedad de Crohn (EC). Es por tanto muy importante realizar un buen diagnóstico diferencial para no inducir a un manejo erróneo del paciente o retraso en el diagnóstico de la causa que la motiva.

Abstract

Terminal ileitis (TI) is defined as the presence of inflammation in the terminal ileum. There are multiple causes of TI, and it has to be taken into account that its occurrence does not imply the occurrence of Crohn's disease (CD). It is therefore very important to perform a good differential diagnosis to avoid the mismanagement of the patient or delaying the diagnosis of the underlying cause.
